I'm a BCA student who'd rather build something than just read about it. I like picking apart how software actually works, reading past the point I need to, then rebuilding the idea myself to check if I actually understood it. That's usually how I end up learning a new tool or concept, more than any course requires.
Coursework covers C, Python, and SQL. Outside of it I work in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
Learning backend fundamentals Node.js, Express, and relational databases to pair with the real-time systems work.
A key-value database engine built from scratch in Python, just the same internals real databases like Postgres or Redis are built on. Every write is appended to a log and checksummed rather than edited in place, so a crash mid-write can't corrupt existing data, a bad record just gets skipped on the next restart. Point lookups are O(1) off an in-memory index. It also handles TTL expiry, atomic transactions, and safe concurrent access from multiple clients, and runs as an actual client-server database over TCP, with a browser-based demo on top.
GitHub SourceA real-time whiteboard where several people can draw and edit the same canvas together. Rather than a simple last-write-wins rule, the sync layer runs on CRDTs (via Yjs), so two people can edit the same shape at the same instant and the board still converges cleanly It's a React and Konva.js canvas talking to a Node WebSocket server over that sync layer.
